O książce: As its title suggests, the present study is concerned with aesthetic issues that arise from a reading of the tragedies of Seneca the Younger. It will entail not only a close examination of the structure and texture of the tragedies, but also an investigation of their relationship to the works of earlier Roman poets - Virgil and Ovid in particular - the latter of whom, as Reiner Jakobi has shown, Seneca used to imitate.
